Renegade Renewable, LLC
Project Size: ~700 MW
Location: Dawn, TX
Mounting Solution: 1-Axis ground mount
Status: Sold, Continued Development under BPF Acquisition Co Series 11
The Renegade Project—executed under Renegade Renewable, LLC—is a major utility-scale solar development originally developed by Blue Planet ("BP") and Greenleaf‑TNX Resources (“TNX”). BP/TNX initiated this project on the heels of the Misae I project. The system has a planned capacity of approximately 700 MWdc, reflects strategic focus on delivering large-scale, bankable renewable energy assets. During the final development phase, TNX led comprehensive site engineering, packaged and negotiated EPC contracts, and structured critical off-take agreements to ensure project viability under commercial and technical standards

Planned project layout
The project development included securing key PPA contracts and advancing innovative financial structures honed from previous projects to mitigate merchant exposure and support project financing. This preparedness allowed Renegade to enter construction-ready status efficiently and competitively.
In 2021, TNX sold its stake in both Blue Planet and the Renegade Project.
Upon project completion, Renegade will have the capacity to generate up to 700 MWdc of clean energy—potentially powering more than 100,000 homes and significantly reducing regional greenhouse gas emissions. As a fully institutionalized asset backed by strong offtake, contractor agreements, and financial structure, the Renegade Project is poised to contribute to decarbonization goals and renewable energy resilience at grid scale.

Completed Dawn (Renegade) switch-station, ready to interconnect
